The new-to-Atlasova guys are chatting. Several are chat-starved - I am here for you honey, tell me everything. Some of them are forcing themselves to chat and a couple haven’t really bothered.
Matty is giving me life! A dual-beacher is something I’d never considered! What a delightful twist. He's one of the chat-starved, which can only help me at this point.
Matty said Reem and Gillian are on his good side already, which doesn’t surprise me and is really great to hear. And he likes Crystal and I, but not the sneaky trio, Michelle, Aurora and Lauren. But, he said the other guys like Crystal and Aurora. So I am probably the target if we lose. He also said they’re targeting a guy on Taraku, so that sounds positive for the women on that tribe. I hope they go far. If he's telling me these things, assuming they're true, he may be telling everyone everything too. Time will tell.
It’s going to take a miracle to get any of these guys to vote out one of their own. My secret alliance Randy AND Matty both said they were trying to steer the vote towards Aurora, but we’ll see. I probably will play my idol either way if I don’t get really super solid intel (with receipts), because out of the three women on my tribe, my last challenge score was the lowest. For that reason, I wished I’d ended up on the same tribe as Michelle or Gillian, who had way lower scores, but it was a smart move on Michelle’s part to sort the teams this way, with one woman scoring lower than anyone on her alliance on each tribe.
Best case scenario, we win.
Second best, we lose, I play the idol and we get Matty, if Matty wants to be with the women plus (hopefully) Randy, next round it would be 5/4 (Randy, Matty, Aurora, Crystal, Me vs. the remaining Atlasova guys). This seems highly unlikely.
Chances are, they split the vote, C or A goes, and even if I had Randy, Matty would probably just fold in with the guys. Aurora keeps telling me to keep my chin up, so maybe she thinks the vote is Crystal. That’s probably me grasping. I can’t trust her at all at this point, so who knows.
Things will look just as grim for me the following tribal, if we lose that immunity challenge, and I won't have the idol any longer. Depending on how new clues are given out, I may not have time to find another idol in time for the following tribal and I'll be out next.
My game depends on winning immunity challenges and finding idols, maybe both. Crystal thinks the guys might lose on purpose, and pick us all off 1-2-3. She may be right. I’m hoping their love of chest beating makes her wrong.
Looking at the scores from last challenge, I may have a chance at pushing Eric as the vote, since I outperformed him, but it will still seem like a piss poor choice for Randy or Matty, who have the perfectly fine option of staying with the brutes and voting whichever women left or me out next time. If the surviving woman votes with the majority instead of standing up with me, they guys would probably keep her over me next time. Challenge results may factor into their choice.
Not that it matters that much, but Crystal is being pretty sketch about the idol clues. She said she’d give them to me, but that was a day ago and I'm pretty sure she's been avoiding me tonight. I’m going to ask her tomorrow if any of the guys had asked her to vote for a certain person, but I have to be subtle. I’ll probably ask her for the idol clues too, just so it doesn’t seem that I don’t care. Her own ass is on the line too though, I get that. She just shouldn’t have brought up sharing them with me if she wasn’t going to come through. Things like that make me salty.
I'll make the rounds with the guys tomorrow and beg for some deal. Sell my soul if they keep me. Say I'm tight with the women on that side and heard that the guys were teamed up with them and were voting out a guy, so they needed me to protect them from that majority alliance after the merge, that sort of thing. Probably not worth the trouble, but why the hell not. It's more than Aurora can offer, well, other than the fastest challenge score.
I feel like there's a non-zero chance that Reem told Jac she (Reem) had found the idol herself, and maybe what the password was. I'm not sure what reason Reem would have had for doing that, so it's just a weird feeling I have.
I learned from Randy that the hidden immunity idol clues for each beach were different, so that answers that question. If, by some miracle, I make it onto Taraku and no one has found it yet, I'll have a slight chance of finding that idol.
Meanwhile, at least the guys are being nice. Nice in the sort of way that people planning to kill you tomorrow are nice, but at least it’s safe to drink the wine tonight.
