Day 13 - Immunity Challenge #7 - Prisoner's Dilemma

Welcome tribes.

This is an INDIVIDUAL DECISION. Meaning you cannot discuss it with your tribe mates in any capacity.

I have shut off discussion until this challenge is over.

Today's challenge will be very different. This harkens back to the 3rd season of Stranded, where it was originally created, and has been adopted in countless games since then.

We call it Prisoner's Dilemma *thunder clap*

Here's how this will work. On my go you will have 10 minutes to decide whether or not you would like to claim Individual Immunity. The first person to do this is Immune; however, their tribe is sent to Tribal Council. The other tribe receives Immunity by default.

If no one from either tribe takes Individual Immunity after 10 minutes, BOTH tribes will go to Tribal Council.

Remember, it's only after my go that you can claim Individual Immunity. I will give you a time when this starts.

For now, you can ask me questions if you have any.

Isn't a prisoners dilemma that if no one from either tribe takes the immunity, then both tribes DON'T have to go to tribal? The current incentive is just to be the quickest to claim immunity

Is "me" adequate verbiage for claiming immunity?

Jeff,

Your botoxed facial expression gives me no guidance on what to do here. Thanks.

No my dude, then no one would take it if they were guaranteed immunity for not taking it.

The prisoner's dilemma is a paradox in decision analysis in which two individuals acting in their own self-interests do not produce the optimal outcome.

Assuming individuals would rather not go to tribal council than go to tribal council, this is textbook.
